Mani monday: Acrylic D.I.Y.

I don't know about you but I rarely got to the nail salon and pay $45 for a manicure or pedicure. Not only are acrylic, gel or shellac nails expensive but taking them out can be a pain too and can cost you a couple of bucks. and plus, I change my nail color often...so getting them done would be useless.

here is my d.i.y hack on acrylic nails! it stays on for at least a week or 2 depending on the activities you do day-to-day.

only cost me 20$?
acrylic gel: $6.28 walmart
Essie: $8 walmart
topcoat $3 walmart (sale)

good luck!

Mascara tip

Mascara drying out? As long its not over 3 months, you can extend the life/use on your mascaras! how? <strong>3 drops of (unexpired of course) EYEDROPS! VIOLA! new mascara! :)

Makeup: Keep or Toss?

Do you ever wonder why you're still getting pimples despite of amazing products you use?
Remember, dirt and Bacteria can cause a lot of complications on your skin.

Just like food, make up have expiration dates too. Do you know when to toss them out?

MAKEUP EXPIRATION DATE

MASCARA (3 MONTHS)
- It's liquid consistency makes it more vulnerable to bacteria that is why it needs to be replaced often. (I am pretty strict with this because i don't mind spending a couple of dollars to buy a new tube rather than get bacteria on my eye area or my clients' eyes)

LIQUID EYELINER (6 MONTHS)
- Same with liquid eyeliners, due to its consistency, need to be replaced often. Pencil eyeliners though can last up to 2 years but sharpen often to keep it bacteria free.

FOUNDATION (6-12 MONTHS)
- Toss it out if you start to see a difference in the smell of the product, texture and color, TOSS it! if you're acne prone or have sensitive skin like me, toss it out after 6 months.

LIPGLOSS (1 YEAR)
- consistency (sticky liquid) and lips... need I say more?

CONCEALER (1 YEAR)
- liquid concealers are more prone to bacteria.
-creamy ones can last up to a year.

NAIL POLISH (2 YEARS)
- again, if you see a difference in color and texture, toss em out!

LIPSTICK (2 YEARS)
- better than lip gloss, consider tossing them out if it becomes dry or changes hues/color.

POWDER/EYESHADOW/BRONZER/BLUSH (2 YEARS)
- As long as you keep your brushes clean, not mixing any liquid then it can last up to years!

*** I know it requires maintenance but in my opinion, #1 is HYGIENE. not worth the bacteria or the skin damage. :)

Now is the perfect time to toss out products---- summer clean up! ohh makes you re-do your makeup collection :)

good luck!
