HAC: Highlight and Contour

Check out my video here---->  HAC: HIGHLIGHT and CONTOUR VIDEO

CONTOUR:
We aim for The "Ideal Face shape" which is oval.
Since I have a round face and small forehead, I focused more on the hollows of my cheeks to slenderize, not too much on the forehead.

For long lasting results/ some hard contour, do a cream contour first then buff it out and set it with a matte bronzer. For everyday, I only use powder for a lighter look.

HIGHLIGHT:
For that lifted and brightened face look, highlight the inner part of your face & conceal by doing a triangle shape under the eyes. To balance, highlight cupid's bow and middle of forehead and nose.
Add a little bit of shimmer at the top of the cheekbones to give dimension and shimmer to the face.

Products used:
- Covergirl stick concealer (darkest shade)
- Too Faced Soleil Matte Chocolate Bronzer in Medium to deep
- NARS radiant creamy concealer in custard
- MAC mineralize skin finish- soft and gentle highlight

Brushes:
- Tarte Slenderizer Bamboo contour brush (cream)
- NARS Ita brush (powder)
- Crown small stippling brush (highlight)

Herbal Essences Naked

ahhh Spring and Summer is here..finally!

I've always wanted to try this as soon as it came out but i never got the chance until i saw it one day for " buy 2 for $4" at my local grocery store. The naked line was released a couple of months ago and advertised it more than any of their other shampoos and i heard/read good things about the line. I am not really expecting a lot from it since I'm just looking for cheap one.

I personally like the clarifying shampoo that they have which i use once a week to strip all the oil & product buildup that accumulates. Its cheap, smells good and does the job. However, they carry A TON of different hair products that i get overwhelmed sometimes on what to pick. I mainly wanted to try these, the volume shampoo and the volume conditioner.

Since i have very fine hair, i figured this would be my best pick. (they also carry moisturizing shampoo/conditioner)

I am on my 2nd week and i like it! Although it has Sulphate, it has no parabens or silicone. The less chemicals, the better.

I wash my hair every other day and for the first week, i used both, one after the other. Tried it with and without heat styling after washing and my hair was fluffier, bouncier and felt squeaky clean, especially after working out on a hot day. Volume, not so much but i loved how it didn't feel like it strip and dried out my hair.

My only complain with the shampoo, it doesn't lather up fast or it takes a good amount for it to lather up.

The conditioner is the normal & regular ones that we typically use. I just love love love the scent (grapefruit and mint extracts) which  lingers throughout the day making it more awesome :)

Yay for clean, refreshing & cheap shampoos!

i give it a 3/5 =)

Soft Everyday Rose-y Eye Makeup using NAKED 3 palette

Soft Rose-y eye makeup look:  A hint of Pink/ Rose Gold gives a nice lil touch to the normal everyday browns and taupes. All you need are a few colours, and a little bit of contouring in the crease to give it definition.

I have been using this combo for the past 2 weeks and its just a perfect neutral that goes with anything ;)

I apologize in advance with regards to the video. i was holding my DSLR Camera with 1 hand (hence the shaky-ness & blurry-ness)  and i had to use the screen as my mirror lol

Makeup used in video:

EYES:

brow bone and inner corners: Strange
Eyelids: Burnout
Transition and crease color: Nooner
Outer v/crease: Factory
and a little bit of Dark side on lower lash line

Eyeliner: Stila Waterproof Liquid e/l
Base: MAC's painterly paint pot
Lipstick: MAC's morning rose (Limited edition)

Simple makeup wipes

Like is an understatement for these wippies. I've been using this for a couple of months now... Which is safe for me to do a review already.

I used to use the neutrogena one and i dont like how it stings my eyes and felt so greasy. Although it took off my makeup well, my skin wasnt really liking the after feel.

Funny how i stumbled upon these accidentally, it was the only one available in a drugstore i went to. Since i needed one asap (was going to work out and if i dont take out my makeup, i will breakout in a sec) i had a "no choice but to buy" kind of scenario..

I ended up loving this!
These are the only wipes that does'nt irritate/sting my eyes, cuts or pimples, i feel fresh after, bearable not to even wash my face after, perfect for taking out even the most waterproof-est mascara, perfect for sensitive skin, No strong scent and its super cheap! (Around 6$ depends on where you get them)

I rarely stick to products like HG, But besides my stila liquid liner, these wipes are up there for sure!

Mani monday: Acrylic D.I.Y.

I don't know about you but I rarely got to the nail salon and pay $45 for a manicure or pedicure. Not only are acrylic, gel or shellac nails expensive but taking them out can be a pain too and can cost you a couple of bucks. and plus, I change my nail color often...so getting them done would be useless.

here is my d.i.y hack on acrylic nails! it stays on for at least a week or 2 depending on the activities you do day-to-day.

only cost me 20$?
acrylic gel: $6.28 walmart
Essie: $8 walmart
topcoat $3 walmart (sale)

good luck!

Mascara tip

Mascara drying out? As long its not over 3 months, you can extend the life/use on your mascaras! how? <strong>3 drops of (unexpired of course) EYEDROPS! VIOLA! new mascara! :)

Many uses of Vaseline/Petroleum Jelly.

Sure we know some of the uses but there are just some that you might have missed. A beauty girl shouldn’t disregard!

The many uses of Vaseline/petroleum jelly:

1)      Maintain your perfume scent by dabbing a little bit on your skin then apply perfume. It will help last longer
2)      Never get lipstick on your teeth again. Place a thin layer on your teeth, you don’t have to worry about your lipstick transferring
3)      Soften dry/cracked elbows: Sometimes these spots need more TLC and lotion.. especially on the winter months!
4)      Soften your feet by applying petroleum jelly, socks on overnight and you’ll wake up with softer feet.
5)      Use as a scrub: lip scrub (mix in with brown sugar) Body scrub (mix in with sea salt)
6)      You can apply a little bit of Vaseline on the ends of your hair to make them look healthier
7)      As an eyebrow gel. It quickly tames eyebrows and molds them into place
8)      Eyelash care: make eye lashes grow by putting Vaseline at night. It will lengthen overtime
9)      Hurting feet on those heels? Rub a little Vaseline to prevent blisters (no friction)
10)   To remove sticky leftover glue from false eye lashes
11)   Rub a little to soften cuticles
12)   Mistakes here and there? Easy makeup remover/corrector. Use a q-tip!
13)   as cream blush. Mix lipstick and petroleum jelly!
14)   As lip gloss: mix it with eye shadow/lipstick
15)   As a highlighter. Thin layer on cheeks for that dewy look.

Mani Monday

Wearing one of my favourite nailpolishes, ESSIE'S FIJI. I just love how it look so classic, sophisticated , girly yet polished. Its a definite must have in your nail polish collection. The only thing that I do not like about it is the consistency... it comes out streaky so you realy have to be careful in painting your nails. mine is a good 2 coats then topped with clear nail polish.

Also, been liking the midi rings trend. =)

Bridal Makeup.

She was one of the prettiest, simplest brides I've done yet turned out to be so gorgeous!!

When i was in Cosmetics school, i remember my instructor stressing the point that bridal makeup  should be CLASSIC and TIMELESS. 30 years from now, would you still love the makeup done?! Would you still look normal? Or would you cringe seeing yourself with hot pink lips? I have encountered brides who wanted "more"...because they have this thinking that the more and heavier makeup aka smokey or dark lips would be appropriate for a wedding... Personally, i prefer LESS. I would not want her face to look cake-y nor too done up. I'm all about the enhancing what every bride has...BEAUTY!

Here are my 2 cents on Bridal Makeup:

1)  Good foundations and concealers are KEY! without a good canvas/base to work on, how will your eyeshadow, blush and everything else look good? But before that, an awesome skincare routing is a must!

2) Waterproof everything. Mascara and eyelash glue most especially. Seriously. i can not even stress how important using long lasting makeup/waterproof products on brides.
If your brides have oily skin, use a setting spray and primer!

3) Soft Brown Smokey eyes are preferred. Suits everyone and looks natural. You can build it up towards the end of the night for an evening look....black is too heavy.

4) Natural looking eyelashes. Brides think its "too much" and "they wouldn't look themselves"...it actually just accentuates your look a little more. It looks awesome on pictures!

5) Lipsticks. Not lipgloss. i prefer just lipsticks with a little bit of gloss in the middle of your lips to make it fuller. Its a no no to oily looking and sticky lips!
